Well thought out mixer bottle

Improves on previous model

For a while now I had been using the original BlenderBottle to mix my post-workout protein shake. It was very convenient and easy to use. The only real issue I had with it was that the plastic started to smell and taste funky, especially if I wasn't able to wash it out immediately. I looked for something like the BlenderBottle made of stainless steel or some other material that wouldn't absorb flavors, but had no luck, unfortunately. When I saw this newer BlenderBottle, supposedly sporting "odor-resistant eastman tritan", I had to give it a shot. So far so good- the funky tastes and odors don't seem to be absorbed into the plastic at all. This newer model also looks a bit less goofy and the top is more secure (the older one leaked slightly when I shook it). The only issue I've found is that the dark tint of the plastic can make it a little bit hard to measure the volume of liquid in the bottle, but this isn't a huge issue and overall I'm very happy with this product.

Good looking functional bottle, improves on the old!

Summary: It is worth it, and improves a great deal over the original blender bottle. Cleaning is slightly more difficult, but other additions in function make up for it.I wanted this bottle to bring to work with protein shakes. The great part is that is is dark so my coworkers don't ask what the nasty looking stuff I am drinking is. It also looks really good with the black/red mix I think. The bottle also now has some rubbery grips on the side and on the top, which is great to help grip it with sweaty hands after a workout. This bottle reminds me a lot more of a Nalgene material then the regular style blender bottle. That is a good thing, as I think this bottle could withstand some serious abuse.Other users complained that this bottle is too hard to open. I've uploaded a user photo to this page that shows the "easy" way to open the bottle. But basically just put your thumb under the front lip and lift up. It is much easier to do this then to try to pry it open using the back of the clip. It isn't hard to open at all the "correct" way if you ask me. Overall great design and improvements from the older style.Pros:-Rubber grip helps you to hold on to bottle while shaking-Hourglass shape helps to hold on to bottle while shaking-Tinted body allows you to see liquid level but keeps actual product discreet-Improved styling/color-"Nalgene" like bottle material seems indestructible-Best mixer around-Improved cap no longer has interior ring that is hard to clean-Rubber on sides of lid for easy removal-Hook for attaching to carabiner or grabbingCons:-Cap too difficult to flip open for weak people/my gym bag-Additional crevices on interior body make cleaning difficult-Dark body color hides dirt on interior-Expensive bottle just to get the all important patented blender wisk-Not free-Doesn't do workouts for meOverall this is a great improvement to the bottle that is an essential for any gym rat to casual yoga mom. It might cost a few bucks more then the imitation ones your gym hands out for free, but the price is well worth it and might even make you look forward to that double chocolate whey protein scoop.
