Best deal on Recon

Muscle Pharm makes great products and I've used several of them. I used to buy from bodybuilding.com and thought they had great prices. Had been buying from them for years and never even thought of looking on amazon. Big mistake on my part. I looked up recon and assault and was shocked to find such great pricing. Saved quite a bit of $$ from the other place and free shipping to boot!Alot of supplements are crap but muscle pharm is one of a few companies that actually makes great products. I use their stuff regularly and it does help quite a bit at the gym and afterwards.Now that I know better, and shame on me for not checking before hand on amazon, I will only buy my muscle pharm products from amazon.

Just add plenty of water

I just used this stuff for the very first time this morning. It was horrid.To put my comments on the taste in perspective: My flavor that was shipped to me was Fruit Punch, not Strawberry. I have used 2 other fruit punch flavored supplements prior to this.- Body Fortress Super NOS Blast- Six Star Nutrition Creatine EliteThe Six Star was actually delicious probably because of its 42g sugar. Body Fortress was also quite good in terms of flavor.The instructions for Recon recommend consuming the drink within 5 minutes of mixing. I attempted to do this and ended up gagging several times trying to choke this stuff down. I used 1 scoop mixed with 14oz water. It mixed completely in my Blender Bottle (with the wire ball), the consistency was very smooth, just tasted... nasty. Perhaps I will get used to the flavor, I will update if that is the case.It is also missing Whey protein so after I finished the Recon I mixed myself a chocolate protein shake to get the retched taste of the Recon out of my mouth.Perhaps the other flavors are better. Stay away from the fruit punch.--UPDATE--For day 2 I added another 6 oz of water for a grand total of 20oz mixed with 1 scoop. That made a HUGE difference. The taste is nothing to write home about but I'm not gagging on it and it is drinkable. I actually don't mind the flavor of it now.My workout was exhausting. I did Legs and Back for p90x and after drinking down my Recon I dont' feel tired anymore, I feel like I have enough energy to go outside and run a couple miles. I just wish there was protein in this. I want to add a protein shake to my morning stack by my stomach is so full after drinking 20oz pre-workout (white flood), 10oz water during, and then 20oz recon (which is supposed to be consumed with in 5 minutes - I can't drink it that fast). I'm going to find some unflavored whey protein and just add it.

Works but...

This product really works. Helps me recover quickly and smoothly after hard workouts.However there are two major issues with this product:1. It tastes like beef broth mixed with super sweet cool-aid. I just close my eyes and down this nasty tasting thing. Lots of ice helps dull the flavor a little, but don't try to smell it.2. It needs a lot of liquid to dissolve in (around 16oz). Trying to drink it all at once, especially when it tastes kinda awful, is not very easy. I sip water during my workout so adding another two cups on top of my pre- and intra- workout liquid intake is tough.So to summarize,if you want a good and inexpensive recovery supplement and don't mind the taste and volume this is the product for you. Otherwise, I'd consider other options.
