More like an MRP than a protein powder

The taste is excellent! I got the vanilla ice cream flavor, but I think it's the same as the vanilla (on the BSN website, only vanilla is listed; I suspect they shortened the name of the vanilla ice cream flavor to vanilla; I also compared the list of ingredients, which is identical).Pros:Delicious flavor, even when mixed with water.It mixes quickly and completely in a shaker bottle.Contains a nice dose of fiber (5g per serving).Nice and creamy consistency, similar to thick milk (but much better tasting).Cons:It's a bit pricey. A very similar tasting product, with nearly the same ingredients, but at a cheaper price, is Dymatize Elite Fusion 7 (creamy vanilla flavor). Actually, DEF 7 has a few carbs less (protein, fat, fiber is the same). To me, the flavor is nearly the same, which is not surprising, as the main ingredients, including the artificial sweeteners, are very similar.Neither a pro nor a con (depending on your goals with this product):Less than half the calories are from protein, so it's actually more like a meal replacement (MRP) than a pure protein powder. One serving has 200 cals, but only 88 of those are from protein (22g protein x 4 = 88). Nothing wrong with that if you want a nutritionally balanced shake. However, if you rather desire a more concentrated dose of protein in your shake (with less fat, carbs, and fiber), you may want to try Syntha 6 Isolate, or Optimum Nutrition's 100% Whey Protein Gold Standard. Those who try to stay away from artificial sweeteners should consider Dymatize All Natural Elite Whey (vanilla flavor is great!), which is sweetened with stevia.

Exactly what I wanted

I've used BSN's Syntha-6 for years and I think it's a great product. Good for meal replacement or recovery drink. I recommend it to any of my frineds who are looking for protein. Added bonus, it mixes extremely well and taste great too. (I always get vanilla and mix with water).
