Excellent Post-Workout Supplement

I am 32 years old and a VERY active person. I run, lift weights, and practice martial arts that require a lot a grappling/wrestling. I have experienced very positive muscle recovery after implementing this product into my daily diet. It allows me to train harder, longer, and more often because my muscles don't ache and/or feel sore the next day.The flavor is not the best...I would rate it as tolerable, but the health benefits outweigh the taste.I highly recommend this for active individuals.

Good stuff

I have used this product for several months now and have to say I really like the chocolate flavor. I have not tried the vanilla. I typically mix mine with 1 cup of 1% milk and sometimes add a banana and/or strawberries. I use the 2 scoop (180 cal) for a meal replacement and 1 scoop 90 cal for a post workout drink. I have lost nearly 30 pounds, but I cannot say this product was solely responsible, but I can say it has helped. Give it a try. For the cost it is worth it.

Great for endurance athletes; supports lean muscle rather than building mass

My 19 year old son has been using this protein powder for the past 3-4 years following long training runs. Currently running 110-120 miles per week, he respects the importance of protein intake after an extreme workout or race since the body cannibalizes protein during long, intense exercise. But so many of the protein powders on the market are geared toward "bulking up" rather than building/maintaining lean muscle. OptiMeal offers a great balance of easily digestible protein and carbs (really, I guess it could be a meal replacement). While my kid was still running for his high school team, he would have a smoothie made with Optimeal as soon as he got home from practice. Usually dinner would be a couple of hours later so the protein smoothie gave him what he needed, when he needed it. Now that he's away in his second year of college, he still keeps a small blender for his OptiMeal. You can also mix it in milk/water with a spoon or a shaker jar.I feel that the OptiMeal helped him to become/remain the strong, competitive runner that he is today. A few months ago, at age 18, he ran his first marathon...and was the overall winner (big check, and all!) and followed up the next month with a first place win in a large half-marathon.His favorite blender smoothie is 2 scoops of chocolate OptiMeal, a frozen banana, ice, and enough milk to make it a smoothie. He also likes vanilla OptiMeal with frozen strawberries.
