Fantastic Taste

I've been a big user of Whey protein shakes, mainly Nature's Best Isopure brand (because it's lactose-free). Unfortunately, it got to the point that I just couldn't take the horrible taste anymore. I decided to try Optimum Nutrition's egg white protein because I had read great reviews for Optimum Nutrition's protein shakes online. I've got to say that they are correct--this shake tastes just like chocolate milk!PROS-The shake really does taste great. I used to choke down protein shakes--no more :)-Excellent price. You get a good serving of protein (23 or 27 g per scoop) and there's something like 40 scoops in the container.-Again the taste--just great.CONS-The ad claims that it is instantized (you can mix it with a spoon). Unfortunately, it takes a good minute or two of heavy duty mixing to get that effect. At first it clumps up, and you have to go at it to unclump it. Even then, there are often little pieces left. The good thing is the taste makes up for it so I've never minded that.One last observation: whey protein seems to be "lighter" than this. I'm not sure if it's this particular brand or all egg protein shakes in general, but drinking my standard 1.5 scoops in the morning really fills me up! I feel a little heavy or full, almost like I've eaten a really big meal as I'm heading out the door. Just something to be prepared for!

A trick for mixing powders with liquids

Here's a trick I learned many years ago about mixing powders, flours, etc. with a liquid to avoid clumping. Put your powder in the bowl, glass, etc. Pour just enough liquid to mix with a spoon. You should really have to work that spoon to get a very thick paste. Any lumps will disappear (from aeration, I would imagine). After that, you can pour in as much liquid as you need and it will be very smooth. It literally takes seconds to do. Hope it helps.

Great taste!!

I bought this because I wanted to increase my protein intake and I can't stomach whey protein. No matter what I added that God awful taste was still there. This one however taste great! I use milk and a drop of Vanilla Butternut Extract... I Love it!!! I am only giving it four stars because the price is high..no higher than other protein drinks, but I think they are all too high. Other than the price you can't go wrong.
