Good Energy Source for Athletes

As a cyclist who likes to go for rides that are anywhere between 20 and 40 miles, I need a source of energy to take while on my rides. I've tried eating Balance Bars, but they're a bit heavy, and I have to stop to eat one. I've also tried some gels, but I thought they tasted horrible - quite like toothpaste.I went into my local bike shop and asked for suggestions, and they recommended these Cytomax Energy Drops. There are two different types, and each type is a assortment of two flavors. The Pomegranate and Tropical Fruit flavor does *not* have caffeine, while the Orange and Tangerine flavor *does* have caffeine. Personally I don't want any caffeine, but to each their own.I like these energy drops because they're very light - just one drop won't come close to filling you up and is rather easy to digest, even under heavy exercise. They do seem to keep my energy level up though, which is impressive. I'd say they're somewhat similar to gummy bears in texture, and I can't really tell the Pomegranate from the Tropical Fruit ones apart - they all just taste fruity to me, which is totally fine. I actually like the taste and they're a bit like candy. They supposedly have electrolytes which is nice. I'm no nutritionist so I can't tell you exactly how well or poorly formulated the energy drops are, but just as a casual user of these, I'm happy.One downside is the packaging. They come in individual bags which is fine, but when I'm on a ride they're kind of hard to fish out of the bottom of the bag. I don't mind using two hands to open a bag, but I'd prefer some sort of packaging that was manageable with one hand once the package is opened and I'm out on a ride.

I never work out without them Great Taste and easy to chew. Just make sure you are ok with Caffeine before using.

I use these all the time when hiking, just before starting a big climb or high energy demand section. I am in good shape and like the extra kick I get from this stuff. I buy these by the box.
