1st time I've tried this product

I chose to try Thorne Research Folacal for my family because, after finding the forms of vitamins the Dr put me on weren't bio-available, I thought, "I can certainly do better than this!" and researched it myself! Around the same time another doc put me on a form of folic acid, 5 MTHF - which is what's in the Thorne product, and is highly recommended by [...] .So, when I was ready to buy, and looking at folinic acid or 5 MTHF, and went to medicalinsider ... I noted they recommend the Thorne products. I read how the body deals with the various folic acids - naturally occuring or synthetic, and why I may or may not want our kids taking the form of the one I'm currently on. I also wanted to know what I was taking esp considering a non-Rx dose is 800 micrograms and the Rx dose is 15 milligrams! Apparently the 5 MTHF oxidates earlier in the cycle than its used, and cancer cells love it - they eat it up. So, if you already have cancer - which I do, then you might not want to take the 5 MTHF - bec you'd be feeding the cancer. 5 MTHF is naturally occuring, and folinic acid is synthetic (both forms of folic acid - both more bio-available than folic acid), folinic acid doesn't oxidate as early in the cycle, thus cancer cells aren't as likely to feed off of it. Or, at least that's my understanding from what I've read.The Thorne Research folinic acid was not on my list until I read the info. on [...] , but I was impressed with the info regarding how your body breaks down and uses nutrients. I feel I have to have that info, and I have to tk high qual products. Anyway, if you're looking for high quality products, and aren't sure what to try, I think you can be pretty sure that Thorne produces high quality products.Thorne Research - Folacal - 60's
