Tastes just like Strawberry Milk!

I've tried all 4 flavors of Jay Robb's whey protein powder and the strawberry is my favorite. I simply mix it with a big glass of ice cold water & stir....tastes just like the strawberry milk of my youth! It doesn't dissolve quite as easily as I would like* but it's really not a problem and I probably use 14-16oz. of water vs. the 8oz. suggested in the instructions. As far as the other flavors go, IMHO, chocolate is chocolate and just fine; pina colada tastes exactly like the cocktail it's named after (but foams up too much for me when mixing); and dreamsicle tastes just like a 50/50 bar, and although I'm a big fan of orange&vanilla, the dreamsicle consistency was much more watery than the other three and for that reason I'm not a fan.*I don't know if it's true for all four flavors but I did find with the chocolate, if I let it sit for a minute or so after the initial mixing, it then mixed up and dissolved beautifully.

Best tasting of the Jay Robb array I've tried, but really, they need to commit to top quality milk

I thank the reviewer who posted about the "weasel" factor in the Jay Robb label. Stupid me, I saw rBGH-free on the cover and ignored the asterisks. But there is a long disclaimer how they might add regular milk with hormones or whatever if there is a shortage globally or from the farms they use, etc. That to me does seem like a " how do we keep the profit up, oh, let's add cheap milk" sort of loophole. I'd rather they commit to top quality milk, and if there's a shortage, there's a shortage, so you put out less product. Jay Robb should man up and be ethical here. Or don't put that promise on the label at all. Just leave it be. It's slightly deceptive in that you see the front saying rBGH-free and just assume that's that. Maybe a big SOMETIMES r-BGH-free with the sometimes in bold letters.Anyway, the taste: This one's good. I've tried the tropical one, the orange creamiscle type one, the chocolate and the vanilla as well. Some have awful aftertastes or soapy tastes. Even the gal at GNC asked me if I could stomach the taste. I said, well, the pineapple/coconut one is nice with coconut milk to mask the weird taste. The vanilla is nearly unsalvageable. The creamsicle, meh. The chocolate, meh. But the strawberry is benign.I don't expect fabulous "I'm gonna die it's so good" flavor from my whey protein. I want it to be good quality, ideally grass-fed cows without all the icky stuff, and not sweetened with sugar/HFCS/etc. Lower cal and lower carb would be nice, too, I just want good, solid whey protein and not a lot of toxic goop in there.I have pretty much decided I'm only buying whey from providers who promise grass-fed cowmilk with no hormones/etc. When my stash of Jay Robb is done, I'm done with Jay Robb, until his company commits to not loophole-ing the quality of the whey.But if you don't mind rBGH....then this is a good option.A star deducted for weaselly "front" labeling and iffy decision-making. Otherwise, taste and protein hit are good.Happy slurping.

Make a Strawberry Shake with Jay Robb

Jay Robb is my favorite protein powder, and I get the best prices on Amazon. Here is my recipe for a strawberry shake that is very close to a strawberry ice cream shake: 1/2 cup of club soda or Sprite Zero, 1 scoop of strawberry Jay Robb Whey Protein, and 1 T of heavy whipping cream (fat doesn't scare me), 1 T of Da Vinci SUGAR FREE Strawberry Syrup 750mL with Splenda. Whip it up in a blender. Add 3 pieces of ice. Put your blender on crush. Then add three more pieces of ice. Crush the ice. If you want it thicker add more ice. Life just got happy!
