Good results if you can withstand the taste.

Every time I walked into GNC I've seen this product and have been curious to try it...just wasn't curious enough to spend $40 on 2lbs of it. Amazon offered a 4lbs jar of it for $50. Lets start with the Cons...Cons:1.)The taste...is absolutely horrible (awaiting the arrival of the Fruit Punch flavor in the mail; I've heard that one tastes decent...)...Imagine adding grease to a blue raspberry drink...and it foams horribly...at least 1/4 of the drink you make will be foam (but chug it down...its still packed full of protein)2.)Also, I'm not one who really cares about artificial sugar substitutes or food dyes...(not a health-nut who thinks aspartame will give you AIDS or food dye will cause your children to have a third eye...[and by the way...I don't use artificial sugar substitutes because they taste like garbage, so I'm not advocating the use of them]) but just be warned that the blue dye in this product is strong. Really strong. Strong enough to turn your stool blue, so don't freak out like I did...On to the Pros:1.)The first thing I noticed was a giant boost in energy. Not sure if it is the creatine that is packed into it, but it helps to take one scoop pre-work out and 1-2 post work out depending on how long and intense you train.2.)This product was really easy on the stomach. Usually I get gassy with whey protein, but this stuff (aside from making my taste buds cry) had no negative effects on my stomach.3.)I've only used this product once, but it (maybe it was my imagination) helped shred my body up. I was getting more cut than ever before from it, and haven't lost any strength either.All in all, if you can bare the burden of horrible taste (hold your nose and chug) then this is a product worth trying.-=Brendan=-

Frothy, chemical tasting, easy on the gut

My compliments to Muscle Meds for breaking the "superior whey protein blah blah" marketing mold and delivering a relatively new form of powder protein to a tired market.Criteria for assessing protein powders include:A. TasteB. Effective protein deliveryC. Protein densityD. DigestibilityE. Undesirable ingredients (often the sweeteners, preservatives, or fillers)F. Nutritional additivesAfter testing Muscle Meds Carnivor in the Blueberry flavor, my assessment is:A. Taste is a thin viscosity, cough syrup like flavor. On a scale of 1-10, I rank it a 4. Distasteful, but I was not going to barf. Nor do I look forward to it. Drank it straight. NOTE: 2/3rd's of my mixing mug filled up with gas bubbles! Be prepare to swallow a lot of gas bubbles or air when getting to the blue liquid. Weird that the manufacturer would let it froth like that. Not a deal breaker, just inconvenient.B. Seems to be very effective at delivering protein. Recovered extremely quickly from a tough workout and feel pumped and energetic. Goes along with no gastric distress. Ranking it a 9 in this.C. Protein density seems to be as good or better than anything on the market in legitimate terms. Scores a 10 here. I try not to go beyond 40 grams in one dose as my upper limit.D. Digestibility is where this seems to shine. Almost all whey proteins have rumbled right through me. Carnivor has not had that effect at all. Well done Muscle Meds. Scores a 10 here. Most other protein sources are in the 5-7 range for me.E. Undesirable Ingredients: The blue dye is nasty and strong. Sucralose, AP, MD are the sweeteners. I prefer Stevia, but sucralose is better than some of the other poisons. I give it a score of 4. Big room for improvement. Lose the dye, offer other sweetening options or let the customer do it to taste.F. Nutritional additives: Here is where Carnivor also shines. It contains BCAA's, a huge shot of Creatine beyond what would be contained in an equivalent amount of steak with the same protein level, and a nitrogen/ammonia recycling ingredient. Do not know the effectiveness of these additives, but I do know paying for them separately gets expensive. Score of a 10 here also.This is not a meal replacement, so does not contain the fats and carbs for a complete meal. For a powder, I think Carnivor is a worthwhile addition as a break from whey, egg, or over-eating steak.

Good item, good price

My son uses this after weight lifting. I buy it for him. It's all he will use. After lifting for 8 months, every day, and using this, he has gone from 140 pound skinny guy to a 158 pound guy with muscles. Interesting to watch the change.
