Important part of my supplement routine

I've been using glutamine for a long time, off and on, and have always gotten positive results with it. Its a non essential amino acid that truthfully is found in any type of a protein powder and food. It is found in these locations naturally, but it becomes depleted in individuals whom are heavy in weight training or endurance training.Its not a supplement that will increase your muscle size or strength drastically, but it does give you that extra edge when it comes to recovery and muscle fatigue. For me, its a core part in my supplementation routine. No need to really cycle it either and given the amount you get for the price, its very realistic for the avg. to take this stuff year round.For lifters, I suggest looking into Citrulline Malate too; Primaforce Citrulline Malate 200 Grams + FREE Agmatine Powder 50 Grams. Its another one of those nonessential amino acids and it plays a pretty big role in nitrogen balance and metabolic processes - which translates into a massive amount of blood being shot into your muscles once contracted.I train a lot longer and hardly ever got that lactic acid burn on arm days, at least it takes a heck of lot more to phase me. Even my cardio is easier on it too. I'd recommend it along with glutamine any day of the week specifically because it is actually partly synthesized from glutamine which means taking them together increases effects across the board.

Glutamine is one of the supplements that actually does something, and ON makes high-quality products

Glutamine is the most abundant single amino acid in your body. It plays a key role in muscle growth, and I can't stress its importance enough. Research has shown that lifting weights increases your body's need for glutamine, and if you don't provide enough, it will steal it from skeletal muscle tissue. Supplementing glutamine has also been shown to increase growth hormone levels.Bottom line: This is a supplement that you should always be taking, and ON makes high-quality products. I've tried cheaper glutamine powders and while I can't with certainty say that ON's is "better" (how do you quantify that, really?), I did notice that ON's mixes better with water and is less chunky. That may or may not have anything to do with quality, but I stick with ON because I know they make good stuff.

Glutamine... do you really need it?

This is one of the basic supplements in the market today. I have tried it for six months and although it is a good product, I have decided not to buy it again. If you are taking this, odds are you are already taking some kind of protein powder and most already have some glutamine in it. If you have a good nutrition and use a good protein supplement, you will not get extra benefits from Glutamine.For the basics stick with: Fish Oil, Multi vitamin, Whey Protein and proper training and nutrition
